ULTIMATE STYLE ICON!! THE QUEEN!!!!!

Howdy folks,

This really was supposed to be the first post on my blog but things don't always go according to plan right?. I tend to get carried away a lot.. and I mean alottttt!!!! LOL!! (hey! I'm only human). Right, lets get down to it. If I asked you who your ultimate style icon was, could you give me just one name? .... (I'll wait while you think). It's hard isn't it. I must admit I have a lustful eye when it comes to my love for style icons, I just can't help myself. I go through fazes where I just fall head over heels in love with a celebrity and their style. I mean from Solange Knowles, Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker to the likes of  Kourtney Kardashian. I just love love love Kourtney, Not only is she my favourite K sister but this woman can dressssss!!!. She doesn't play when it comes to her wardrobe. Out of the K sisters, she is the only one that seems to have a natural style of her own, I'm not one to bash people about what trends they chose to follow but Kim K to me just seems like everything she wears has been thoroughly thought out by an army of stylist or her famous rapper boyfriend ( which in my eyes, is never cute.) and lets be honest as much as Khloe is such a loveable character, she really doesn't have a style and if she has, then I can not say i have noticed *yawns*. Kourtney just always bring it out of the bag for me. She just isn't afraid to take risks, Overall, I just love her, maybe its because I see so many of my characteristics in her. This woman couldnt give a damn what you think of her, she isn't fazed by the media world and I love that she seems to know who she is.

OK!! enough gibbering, Over the years I always stray with my lustful eye but there is really only one that has my heart as my style icon. This woman is a force to be reckon with, she is so consistent with her style, Trend setter rather than a follower. It's no other than the only..... VICTORIA BECKHAM!!!!! sigh!!! I mean this woman can do NO wrong in my eyes. Regardless of what you think of this woman, It's undeniable that her style is in a league of its own. When I think of style, Victoria Beckham almost immediately always comes to mind . She owns everything she wears, she wears those garments and never the other way round honey. I adore her even more because not only is she a fashion icon, she is also a designer. Usually when well dressed celebrities make the transition to designer, Its usually a no go area because there isn't usually any real passion there. Most just do it because they can and the outcome is almost always very basic and unimaginative. Not Madame Vicky!!! you only have to see her collection and let it speak for itself. Although I wont be seen  any time soon In any of her collections ( Those prices are not for the faint hearted and one can only dream). The biggest dilemma I have, is having a vision in mind but not finding what I want in shops, no matter how high and low I search. I am a woman of many talents but putting pencil to paper and designing sadly is not one of them *sobs*. Admiration to anyone who can put a vision to paper and bring it to life and Mrs Beckham does a darn good job of it. Being a fashion icon and designer must bring so much freedom and who doesn't hate limitations?. The possibilities are endless, you want something that isn't out there, take it to the boardroom and do your magic. Making your wardrobe happy and making some change out of it can't be a bad days work.

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE BOO?!?!

Am i the only woman that hates when this question is thrown at them??....Many people seem to answer this question for me, I get seen in a particular outfit and automatically put in a box. 'what style would you most use to describe you?' .... 'What style era do you fit in most?' ... Truth be told..... WAIT FOR IT..... I really do not have one. As a woman, i believe in freedom, i don't believe in boxes and being caged. I love options and variations. Fashion for me is fun, exciting and full of thrills. So why limit yourself. I love experimenting (although the older i get, the more i lose that daring side to me). I hate being limited to anything in life right down to my wardrobe. WHY LIMIT YOURSELF?. As an individual i am not one that follows the latest trends, I wear what i like and i like what i like ( you get it?). Life is far too short to be thinking of trends and whats the latest on the catwalk. Don't get me wrong if i do like whats out at the moment i do inc-operate it with what I have already.

I see myself as my very own life size mannequin, (weird but ey!) Being your own personal mannequin means i have so much fun with my wardrobe when it comes to piecing outfits together. To me that's what its all about ....FUN!!!... I'm that annoying friend that gets super excited when an event is coming up (we all have one and within my group of friends, it so happens to be me... lol i do not mind) Right from the get go i get stuck into what look I'm going for and how i will achieve it. My friends find it so daunting finding an outfit to wear ( which to be honest i always find mind boggling). When it comes to women's clothing, the world  dress is your oyster ( see what i did there lol). As women we are so lucky when it comes to fashion. the possibilities are endless. Why we struggle to put outfits together is absolutely beyond me. My friends are lucky to have me to be honest lol, as this is where Madame Ade comes to the rescue. I get teased on being such a nerd but who do they all turn to in their time of need ???... yep you guessed it. MOI!!!... Truth be told, i get very excited when my phone rings and its 'Ade i need your help,i don't know what to wear to ....'. Control freak Ade comes out lol ( There are many sides to Ade.... again why limit my personality to just the one) I turn into Sargent mode, 'what look are you going for?'. One thing i never do is force my identity on others while dressing them, I believe in staying true to who you are regardless of what you wear, so i try to bring my friends identity out through items i pick out for them. Between having friends who hardly ever know what to wear and having an older sister who is still struggling with being a tom boy, i am always kept busy.

Couldn't rotate the first picture lol... don't break your neck now .....

RIP THE RUNWAY!!! BAIT THE RUNWAY!!!

So, on Sunday i attended a fashion show, I bought my ticket a couple weeks ago (while i was in hibernation) so i had no idea how bait ( hence the title bait the runway) this event would be. Literally thought it was just a simple fashion show ( and boy do i love a good fashion show). After re joining twitter and seeing all the tweets about the show, it dawned on me that everybody and their mother would be attending. let me not lie this freaked me out a little lol... I'm not the biggest fan of mainstream events, simply because you bump into everyone there is to bump into. Anyone that knows me knows i like to live in my own little bubble. Seeing everyone always consists of the awkward chit chats and forced banter 'how are you'... ' what do you do now' ... BLAH BLAH BLAH, you all know the rest.

Despite my reservations, it was a lovely evening and to my surprise it was quite nice bumping into a few people i had not seen in a while. It was a very glamorous evening and majority of the folks there just looked amazing. Didn't get any pics of the actual fashion show ( Don't know what i was thinking.. forgive me lol)
